Think about this statement as you prepare the second Readings report.

- What any particular investigation or critical appraisal can be claimed to show need not be what its author claimed to show; the conclusions that are justifiable or allowable on the basis of the work done and the evidence presented may be weaker or stronger than claimed by the author -

What is your reading experience with this statement in mind?

Roland Barthes, a French literary critic and a deconstructionist, call it 'Death of the Author.'
Barthes is credited for his Reader Response theory.
